Symphony Conductors Applaud - 1957

Poster-1958

Dear Mr. Pennario
Your performance last night of Rachmaninoff's Variations on a Theme of Paganini was so powerful and brilliant that it reminded me of the composer's playing of this beautiful music.
You expressed so eloquently the lyrical parts which were always played with such deep feeling by Rachmaninoff. I cannot thank you enough for such a memorable musical experience.
Sincerely
(signed)

Pennario received greatest ovation ever accorded any artist in our history. His playing was sensational and we expect a repeat sensation this evening. Kindest regards-

"Greatest ovation of all by the capacity audience went to Leonard Pennario. He was called back six times after his great performance."
